Inon Zur - Biography

Perennial award-winning composer Inon Zur creates emotionally dynamic orchestral music for film and television, Hollywood movie trailers and blockbuster video games. Inon brings extensive experience composing music-to-picture, and conducting and recording live symphony orchestra.

Inon’s powerful orchestral scores can be heard in the promotional trailers for major motion pictures such as The Spiderwick Chronicles (Paramount Pictures), The Other Boleyn Girl (Sony Pictures), Fool’s Gold (Warner Bros. Pictures), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Warner Bros. Pictures), Kingdom of Heaven (Twentieth Century Fox), The New World (New Line Cinema), The Pacifier (Walt Disney Pictures), Fantastic Four (Marvel/Twentieth Century Fox), The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Walt Disney Pictures), Annapolis (Touchstone Pictures)

Inon Zur has written music for a variety of television series and movies. Most recently Inon composed the music for Marvel Kids’ IRON MAN TV webisode series and CBS’ GHOST WHISPERER: THE OTHER SIDE TV webisode series, directed by Claudio Faeh (“Coronado,” “Hollow Man 2,” “Starship Troopers 3”). He also composed the music for CBS’s JERICHO webisode series. Inon’s previous television projects include several hundred episodes of the animated hit series DIGIMON (ABC Family) and ESCAFLOWNE (Fox Kids) based on the Japanese cult favorites. His other primetime credits include State of Grace (Fox Family), Big Guy and the Rusty Boy Robot (Columbia TriStar), Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog (Fox Kids), Power Rangers: In Space (Fox Kids), Beetleborgs (Fox Kids), and Valley of the Dolls (New World Entertainment). Among his TV scoring accolades, Inon is a recipient of the International Monitor Award for the Fox original mini series D.A.V.I.D. and his music for the popular live action show Power Rangers Turbo (Fox Kids) won Best Score at the Telly Awards.

Inon’s main theme for Men of Valor was honored with the Game Audio Network Guild (G.A.N.G.) Award for Best Original Instrumental at the Game Developers Conference. His SOCOM II music was also a G.A.N.G. Finalist in the same category. Sony Computer Entertainment America used this anthemic track for two consecutive years at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) as part of their marketing campaign to showcase new Sony PlayStation products. His original fantasy score for Icewind Dale II was nominated for Soundtrack of the Year by Game Industry News and his impassioned orchestral music for Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal was recognized in GameSpy’s Best Music Awards and G4TV’s Top Ten Game Soundtracks. Furthermore, Inon’s dramatic and sweeping music for Lineage II was celebrated at Lineage II: The Concert held in Seoul, Korea in May, 2006 as a lead promotion to kick off the NCSoft video game campaign for the latest chronicles in the highly successful MMORPG.

Inon has composed and recorded orchestral music for use in Hollywood motion picture trailers, including a unique collection entitled “Dramatic Fantastic.” The library was commissioned by BMG Zomba and is available through their subsidiary label Bruton Music and distributed by Associated Production Music (APM), the largest provider of music for use in film, television, radio and new media productions. The library features an eclectic compilation of Inon’s exhilarating and stirring feature film music cues and epic finale suites, each tailored with his in-demand and versatile styles. Inon’s music is also featured in APM’s EndGame multimedia music library and Major League Baseball music library as well as the latest X-Ray Dog film trailer music libraries.

Inon’s feature films include the romantic comedies Au Pair and Au Pair 2 (Fox Family), rated among the network’s most successful premieres, and the theatrical drama St. Patrick: The Irish Legend (Fox Family) featuring award-winning actors Malcolm McDowell, Alan Bates and Susannah York. Action-adventure movies such as Rusty: The Great Rescue (Twentieth Century Fox), Casper: A Spirited Beginning (Twentieth Century Fox), and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (Twentieth Century Fox) also feature original music by Zur.
